I wouldn't put anything over FP. Large art to left of FP

You have an electric outlet there ...if you wanted too perhaps a television ..., I would put a sculpture or a large vase with flowers ...

Can you create a bigger mantle to hide the shelf above? kind of like how people do faux ceiling beams ? that would make it easy to then put something on it...a couple of lanterns on one side or something.

If using as is I'd want to hide the shelf. Perhaps a big mirror. i have a very large clock that rests on my mantle that might work too.

or you could frame it in.

I hate those corner mantel shelves. I would frame it and drywall it, then decorate it with art like a regular fireplace.

Get rid off the corner add sheetrock above the fireplace or wonderbord to make flush with the fireplace and go with the brick to the ceiling

honestly I'd tear it out. you will always have the conflict with the window... or move the window.

The unfinished area above the mantel should match the fireplace. I would
have a professional continue the fireplace stone facade up to the ceiling. Then I would hang a painting above the mantel. The fireplace looks unfinished in its current condition.

I hate corner fireplaces and often ignore them when doing a room and no aTV would not work there anyway Is this an actual firplace or some electric one?
