I would not add any curtains, unless you need shades for privacy or sun/heat control at certain times of day. In that case, you can install inside mount cellular shades that are battery powered and can be raised/lowered with a remote control.

I would also not add anything above the closet, as it will just call attention to the fact that the closet is messing up the symmetry in the foyer.

I might consider looking for a larger and more interesting chandelier to hang in the foyer.

Maybe interesting art securely affixed to the wall instead -- unless you want to be climbing up to dust on a regular basis -- so you can "dust mop" it rather than climbing to reach it or risk breaking it by trying to dust it from standing on the entry floor.

Completely agree with the light fixture advice. That is the only thing I'd change!

Like the middle groveraxle suggestion for entry light. Then prefer what you already have to the other two pics-- the first is to spindly and the last is to gaudy and "busy".

Filling up the top of open shelving/closets etc. was done a lot at the end of last century i.e. in the '90s so your question is not that far out there.One home I saw back in the day had an array of antiques including their own baby cradle which was very visually interesting. For me the biggest issue is the dusting. Once a year if not touched is not impossible to do but just open works well. Not every horizontal surface needs to be filled. (a mantra I have to keep in my head) My personal theory on windows: if the privacy or sun block isn't needed leave them unadorned.
