Rooting Branches

A friend of mine has this Asian pear tree that has very yummy fruits. Found out that she got it from Costco a few years ago. Contacted Costco to find out if they'd be carrying them again, they said they didn't sell well and would not be bringing them back.

So, I asked my friend if she'd let me have a few branches to root. Is this even possible? I don't know what I'm doing at all. Took those branches, soaked them in willow tea (homemade, got willow branches from my neighbor) for a few hours and then I stuck them in potting soil. A week and a half later, I see leaf buds appearing. I also soaked some in willow water (willow branches + water, not brewed). The ones in willow water were budding out as well but no roots. Since leaf buds are appearing, does that mean they're going to root?
