What do you need to store?

Is it for one or two people?

How tall are you?

How much in hanging clothes? For what, dresses, skirts, blouses, shirts, jackets? Trousers/slacks? Suits?

How much folded stuff like tees and sweaters? Do you prefer shelves or drawers for those?

Are out-of-season and in-season both stored there?

Is your lingerie in the closet, too?

Accessories?

Jewelry?

Shoes?

This is for 2 people!

I'm 5 foot 3 my husband is 6 foot

I'd like a lot of room for hanging clothes-Dresses,blouses,shirts,my work scrub tops and some dress shirts for my husband and dress pants.

Would prefer drawers for tees and sweaters. I will also have a dresser in my room for probably most of our tee shirts and Jeans also.

Only in season clothing will be stored here.

No lingerie.

My small amount of Purses will be stored here. I was thinking just on a shelf above one of the rods.

Shoes I was thinking I could have stored under my hanging clothes on a low shelf from the floor.

I dont need anything fancy, I just want practical.

Is there enough space in the center to add in a counter with drawers underneath. Counter for men's change, etc, drawers for sweaters and T's?

Sounds like you need a lot more hanging space than your husband needs. So, would this work:

B: You. Hanging bar across the back, maybe half of it doubled, or whatever works for you. You are short, so you can have two rows of shelves above for purses, shoes, maybe a pull:out below for the everyday shoes,

D: Husband. Hanging bar, shelf above, maybe shoes below. Is that enough space for him? If not, give him some space on the left end of your side B.

E: You Drawers for tees and sweaters etc. Shelves above, or more hanging for your husband, or leave it open for some “breathing room” and a nice picture or mirror.

A: Husband. flattish racks or hooks for belts, ties, work lanyards, etc. and a full-length mirror. I’m sure there will be one on the door, but do you want to have to close the door to see the outfit?

C: You. Flattish racks or hooks for belts, scarves, work lanyards, etc.

Wall A = long hang

Wall B=double hang (his/hers)

Wall C = long hang or shelving or more double hang (depends on if all hanging clothes will fit on Wall A & B

Small closet, so use drawers in furniture elsewhere. You need as much hang as possible.

Get a hanging closet system, so it's open at bottom for shoe storage. CA closets offers this & so do some local closet companies. CA closets is $$$, but their material is so much better. Some local companies have similar material, for less, depends where you live. Get at least 3/4" thick MDF systems & pay extra for edge banding so It will protect from edges getting worn & last longer. Anything less will not hold up as well. I know from experience.
