mouse or bug- what do you think?

Last week we saw a piece of wood on the basement floor, no shavings but wanted to keep an eye on it. This morning in this area I found this. There are often crickets and sometimes beetles in the area, so I’m not sure. Does it look like a mouse dropping? Please convince me it’s not- as I’m terrified..
