Color change help!

I hired a color consultant and she helped me pick my colors for my dining area but I don’t like the color, but he yellow is too much. I don’t like it. We are placing brick around the fireplace that connects the dinning area and living room, does anyone have any color ideas for that area? I can’t stand the yellow! The first picture is the brick we are doing around the fireplace. Also, I want to change the trim and floor boards color to white. We are having our hardwood refinished and we will have to repaint the floor boards anyway. You can kinda get a feel for the color. It is a really light yellow/cream color. Any suggestions. Ignore the red couch that is going bye bye. lol

Your connecting spaces must be the same color. You could put an accent color on the fireplace wall, but both dining and living areas should be the same color.

Choose an accent color when you decide on the sofa color or accent fabric colors.

    For instance:

Lean more toward a pink tone to compliment the brick…don’t go red.

Whoa, what happened to my comment? Weird..,

My comment didn’t post correctly. We are refinishing our floors. They actually don’t have a stain on them. It is just the clear coat that yellowed over time. I am going to repaint the yellow to match the living room. I can’t stand it.

what temperature are your bulbs? anything under 3500K will cast a yellow hue

the wall color in pic 2 looks very light compared to the yellow color in the next picture.

what color stain are you doing on the floors?

Our bulbs are definitely casting a yellow hue.

    I really like the fireplaces.

I will definitely change the kitchen bulbs. The bulbs on the lights over the bar are the natural light and I like that so much better.

i love the herringbone w/the used brick. are you going all the way up w/the brick?

We are going to go all the way up. The picture of the brick doesn’t do it justice. The brick look bigger than they are. The brick on the bottom is the sample brick we were thinking about getting and the one on the top is the brick we cut. The sample brick is $9 a foot and the stuff we cut we bought for .75 a brick and we can cut 4 from one brick. Good deal huh?

Hi Melanie, I commented on someone else’s post you had commented on but I don’t know this app well enough to actually tag you, so in case you aren’t able to see my question for you I though posted on one of your brick posts might work instead

Are you able to tell me what was used and how you cut your brick? I’m doing a coffee nook with a brick back and in Canada it’s near impossible to find thin brick let alone affordable for a small space but I have boxes full of old bricks I took that were once surrounding the garden but cannot find a consistent answer in how to cut them thinner as your husband has. (I’m currently updating my fireplace as well and now I want to re do what I’ve done and make it brick.. thanks for that 😂)
