Formaldehyde / birth defects

I’m pregnant. I just ordered this table and as I’m assembling it I read a sticker on the underside of the drawer that says warning: this product contains formaldehyde which can cause birth defects and reproductive harm. Can you please explain? This is a serious warning to me and now I’m fearful of what I was exposed to on opening the product.
