Kitchen layout dilemma

I would like to open up our dining room wall to create a larger kitchen to entertain and uncertain of the layout while still keeping a dining area somewhere in the space.

Good morning :) These are great photos - I love your plants! Someone is going to ask you for a drawn to scale floor plan before they can see what there is to work with. There are some great pros on here.

When you do the scale layout drawing include the whole ground floor with measurements. You can use graph paper.

Here is the floor layout measurements of the nook, kitchen, and dining room, the layout in this picture is not what is currently there, it is only an idea of what could be

Behind the bar stools is a railing and the room below is a pool table/entertainment room

Are all the measurements correct/current for the walls, windows, doors, & doorways?

We need to see the floor plan as it is and the area with the DR also in the to scale drawing and all the windows doors and wall measurements too .

The floor plan above pictured is accurate with existing doors, windows etc, the only modification is the wall removed between dining room and kitchen.

Is this a tri-level home? Is the area with the bay-style windows an addition? Is it important for you to keep the opening between the kitchen and the lower level?

The problem with this new plan you posted is that your nook is too narrow. Useable space looks to be 7’ x 11’; too small for a proper dining room.

Stools with no counter make no sense. You already have another counter with stools looking into the living room. If you have plans for a substantial remodel, don’t bother trying to improve an already uncomfortable layout.

It is a tri-level home, The stools by the counter are not staying there, I am looking for complete overhaul ideas of the total space.

so the left most space is the current dining room?

-Are you willing to relocate the patio doors (A)?

-where do the other doors lead to (B-D)?

    - is the wall where B is, the railing??

    - I’m guessing that D is the opening to your living room?? If so, are comfortable with your current plan which would hand out open to the kitchen? Also, any chance that opening could slide to the right at all?

    - does the nook bump out need to stay bumped out? What if that wall was instead flush with the kitchen wall?

    - thoughts on making your living room the dining room, since you have the family room?
