Storing potted hostas for winter in Massachusetts?

October 9, 2019

Ah, me, sigh. Once again, I have over-estimated my ability to buy new plants and get them into the ground in a timely manner. I have 10 new-this-spring hostas in pots of varying size. Now that winter is looming, can I just lug all of them into my unheated garage to wait out the season until spring? I cannot heel them in anywhere, and also am not able to place them in their ideal permanent locations right now.

I'd do Ken's leave-em-on-the-driveway method, but need to know if letting them hibernate in the garage is a viable option. Help, please!
