I know nothing about those cabinets. What I do know is that nobody's projects come in on time, unless they have some spectacular people working and guiding them. It is a total bummer to go from having things done by Thanksgiving to not having them done until well after the New Year, but such is the process for most people.

Yes, they are worth it. Once the 3 day right of recision ends, no custom produced set of cabinets are refundable. Only stock off the shelf are returnable or refundable.

There is no return policy on custom orders ... unless the cabinets/product arrive damaged or are the wrong product. If there is anything wrong when they arrive, DO NOT install them!

You can always lose your entire deposit and start over. .......................I doubt you'll be further ahead either.

September through December is the no mans land of delivery on any custom anything.. Unless the thing you ordered was ordered 7/30. A sofa could take 12 weeks or more.

You don't say if new build or remodel. Either way, you were late with a cabinet order, on your timetable. No matter what they "told " you

Yep this order was placed too late in the process since you knew from the begiining they would take 3 months they are right on time Welcome to building and renovating nothing is ever on your time and at this time of year even worse. You don’t say when you started or wether new build or reno so we don’t really have time line.

Part of a delay with any order---- can be how "clean" it is....meaning, there are no last minute changes on the factory acknowledgments. Usually an order is placed. Then factory submits a cabinet order acknowledgment with all the nitty-gritty details (hinging, finished sides, door details, wood, finish, sheen...etc) and sometimes custom drawings are done by an engineering department if a custom cabinet was planned. Any add ons and changes will delay that as they need to resubmit a new acknowledgment. Even just ONE day delay can push the order out to the next delivery week. Recently with one of my lines, that happened. We had a clean order...or so we thought....but then the homeowner questioned a few details and changes had to be made. The cabinet company had to submit a new acknowledgment....whole order got delayed by a week if we had just let the order go in as it was. Luckily, the contract is a week behind too, so all is good! :-)

Ps. Definitely stick with the Grabill! Nice cabinets. If you go with something equal, they won't arrive sooner. You'd have to possibly drop down another level of cabinets. Even mid grade cabinets can take 6-8 weeks....so now you're in to the holidays and a lot of subs take off during the holidays. Wait it out...it's worth it.

I am curious...are they Frameless, Framed or Inset? Did you put 50% down?

I used Wood-mode a year ago and had several extra weeks going back and forth to get a custom stain done the way I wanted. I think we had 3 samples and it was 3 weeks between each one to get it right, so an extra 9 weeks, but I ordered the cabinets way ahead when they had a promotion so they were waiting for us at the carrier's warehouse when we were ready to install.

You wouldn't gain any time by switching at this point. You would need to select the finishes/door styles from the new line, the order would need to be prepared with the new line's order system, new deposits paid, new acknowledgments sent, reviewed and approved, and then a new 6-8 week lead time (for a quality product). That would pretty much take you to the same delivery date as you have now.

I agree at this stage you would lose your deposit and might have to wait even longer at this time of year. Really in the grand scheme of things this is just a blip that is a PITA but you will be happy once it is done.

Grabil are really nice cabinets. I’m jealous. I’m sorry the wait is longer than you anticipated. :(

My dad sold Grabill back in the 70s in Dayton OH...he brought the line to the area. Great cabinet then...still is!!! :-)

I understand your disappointment, I was sure that I would have a new kitchen by Christmas but it's not going to happen...too many things got in the way. Sooo, right now I'm focusing on having a glorious shiny new kitchen ;) NEXT Thanksgiving and Christmas! Oh well, one day when I look back it will be ok...right now it's a big disappointment. Wait and get those great cabinets early next year.

Not Worth it at all. lack of communication and massive delays. This company is not customer-friendly. Stay away

I was told they have a paint quality issue and will be doing remakes for the foreseeable future. They should NOT be allowed to accept new orders or should be forced to disclose their quality control issues! Waste of time and money!
