I am surprised you have selected a white top with gray veining when you are keeping the brown floor.

the vanity top from Lowe's does have a tiny bit of brown in the veining. I picked it because I thought it would pull the white from the tile and the brown from the floor together. This was a spec home and this is what the builder installed ( i know, UGLY) but its going to cost me too much to redo the floor so trying to work with what I have. Im also pretty sick of the dark brown base.

I would paint the walls a white that flows with tile & new top or a very light neutral like Ben Moore edgecomb gray & the vanity a very dark teal/navy like Sherwin seaworthy. Then pull it together with accessories.

Paint the walls and go dark blue/navy on vanity.

agree,,,paint walls the lightest color that matches the flooring and try maybe a dark charcoal for the vanity. Does your tile have any dark, warm gray in it?

wall colors on the left. vanity colors are the darker ones. I like a soft gold hardware too. maybe look at some custom color knobs (Etsy, hobby lobby)

to reduce any yellow, change out the bulbs to a 4000K

If u r a dyi person Lowe’s carries Cali bamboo vinyl planks that goes over tile. It’s waterproof easy float install. They have shade of gray that would blend with carpet or whatever color interest Then you would have more options to update.

you don't lay vinyl over tile, you'll see the indentations of the tile under the vinyl.

what she could do is paint the tile if she wants to DIY the flooring. there are numerous tutorials that explain how to do it and offer up the correct materials to use.

You can mix metals. I've seen brass and chrome mixed, and it looks great. If you don't like the gold or mixed metal options, you could always go with chrome. It's a classic, it's becoming popular again, and it would also look good with the color options Beth H. provided.

A, it's only a few knobs. not a big deal. and mixing metals is fine. I have black faucets and used gold knobs on mine. use a very soft gold. or maybe a gold/silver combo if you like.

you can't regrout. that would require scraping 2/3rd's of out. of every tile. not going to happen. Just keep it white.

why don't you just save your money until you can afford new tiles? I wouldn't spend money on a new door or glass (because if you retile, those doors may not fit).

I already paid a reputable contractor for fixing broken tiles and re-grouting all; and install of new shower doors. Ive seen many of his jobs that look nearly identical to mine (all the houses in this neighborhood have either one of two builders) and he said the new door install wont be an issue.

what i'm saying that if the day comes when you want to retile the entire shower, with all new tile, the glass door your getting now might not fit on the new tile.

The reason why is the new tile may alter the width and the new door may not fit. Unless the new tile guy can put in new tile to the EXACT measurements of what's currently there. unlikely.

if you have no plans to change out that tile, then do your new door. I'm just giving you a heads up.

He hasn't done any work on the shower yet. Sorry, let me clarify- I already put a deposit down on the job. I will not be re-tiling (it would have cost too much and I don't find the white tile to be that bad. I love the look this guy did. His tiles are the same size as mine. I'm also pretty sure I will take your earlier advice and paint the floors so will need color advise on that as well. I currently have the black and white rug on the floor to cover as much of the floor tile as well as try to pull the look together in the mean time.

You could look into a grout 'stain' like Grout Renew, but for a shower I don't think it's a good idea.

For the door style, do a frameless.

for you floor tiles, it could be done.

as for paint colors, How about a gray main color w/a white stencil design? It will camouflage the look of them being painted. (make sure you maintain your grout lines. don't stencil over the joints)
