I like the self valence of your current drapery. How about a cream (the same color as your chairs) in a solid or damask pattern? I would do two panels rather than one for each window with a plain shade or a shear beneath.

I would suggest roman shades. I would do them in a white to match the woodwork because your wallpaper & rug are quite busy.

I would not do 2 panels on your windows they are narrow and the panels would cover the entire area between the windows thus covering your beautiful wainscoting.

Your wallpaper and rug are heavy so go for a lighter room brightening window treatment

Use solid light colored colored linen panels. You can use one full panel on each outside edge of the windows, hanging straight down. You need to extend your rod further from the window so they can hang and just cover the frame, and not the window, when fully open. Or use one long rod across both windows with panels on the sides and between. Roman shades would be fine also.
