Where is the ductwork for that vent hood?

The hood has a recirc option which I think we're going to use. Otherwise, they'll cut a hole in the wall and vent out the back.

recirc is an abbreviation for "blowing all the smoke and grease back in my face."

Yep, I know what recirc is........ we don't cook enough to worry with it. We've had recircs in the past and for our needs, it's been just fine. I need help please with my tiling question.

I like how they've extended the vent metalwork and created a stopping point for the tile using matching moulding. I wouldn't extend the metal work past the moulding in your case though as to not interrupt the window.

Crystalpea, I like that idea as well to add trim for a more defined stopping point for the tile. However, I was thinking of extending the tile past that, as in the inspiration photo, but stopping it at the bottom of the window. I think it would go pass the trim piece another few inches. Too little to worry with?

I wouldn't worry with it. I think it might look odd stopping beneath the window instead of at the cabinet line.

What is going to look odd is a floating hood not connected to the ceiling. In front of a very contemporary window. In a very contemporary house.

Live_wire_oak this is why I'm posing the question. Do you have another suggestion? Taking the hood in front of the window to the ceiling?

Maybe have the cabinets go all the way across and hide the vent hood in it? I wouldn’t let anything block that window.
