Some times this works in a space and sometimes the proportions are bad for the space. Depend on your details.

You will need natural light and if that is the spaot you can get it go for it. BTW I do not agree sconces are the best lighting I like a good halogen 150watt bulb in a bar light for over all light and the one Iike the best is the oxygen with 2 150 watt halogens no shadows and great light.

Consider which way the window would be facing. What I mean is if the sun is coming up in the morning and it is going to be streaking in and shooting your eyeballs with light, that might not be a very pleasant wake up experience. On the other hand if it’s not facing east and there’s just nice sunlight coming in that would be very pleasant in the morning.

Don’t Halogen lights put off a lot of heat as opposed to LED?

They do, but they also put out a light that is not matched by LED, those bulbs change from vendor to vendor, the color rendering is still not on point with Halogen. That being said most bulbs are produced in Halogen and LED so you could always swap it out. I don't like solid-state LED fixtures because if the diode goes bad the whole light fixture needs to be changed as opposed to just the bulb. I have 4 halogen recessed cans in my small ensuite bathroom, the heat does not bother me, in fact, I never even think about it.
