industrial style pendant lights

Hi all, love the look of these industrial style pendant lights. I know many people have used them, so wanted to get your opinion. Since the metal prevents the light from shining above them, they are strictly downlights. Do you find they are bright enough? I have room for only one in my application (for a stairwell).

oh my gosh... I purchased the same lights... and wanted to ask that question as well. it's not an answer but I am so curious as to what the responses will be!

yes they actually give forced downlight, so for task lighting they are amazing the specialty glass (halothane) on the bottom helps diffuse the light a bit. However, if you are attempting to light a whole stairwell area, you can get this same style light with a milk glass back and more light will protrude out.
