It doesn’t look to me like you have room between the tops of the upstairs windows and the eave for any dentils.

Hi Rachel, there is dentil there currently so I am actually just replacing it with a frieze board and dentil blocks which is why I am figuring the spacing of that helps.

If this makes sense to you please use it IMO do what you like but I think dentil molding would not be my choice on your home I would leave what you have or nothing you have a lot going on on the facade already. Here is the write up I found.

"Over the frieze comes the line of dentils, made of the same height as the middle fascia of the architrave and with a projection equal to their height. The intersection...is apportioned so that the face of each dentil is half as wide as its height and the cavity of each intersection two thirds of this face in width....and the total projection of the corona and dentils should be equal to the height from the frieze to the cymatium at the top of the corona."

Lime wash the brick, remove the exaggerated flashing designs over the windows, remove the shutters, remove the exaggerated trim above the door or swap the doors… It’s not flowing well together. Don’t mean to be rude, it’s a nice house- it just needs some updates that will make it amazing!
