It is a glare. I just put in hurricane windows. We have a canal in the back so I hate covering that up also

Your bedding should provide the inspiration for a paint color. Bamboo shades would work for you. One large one for the slider and individual ones for the smaller windows.

i would use honeycomb shades, so when they are up, they are hardly seen. You have water views, the only time I would use the shades are at night when the interior lights are on and you can see in.

Some natural bamboo/grassy woven wood shades with top down bottom up could be a nice option. You can even put a room darkening line of the back of them if you would like to block more sunlight. They also come in a vertical version for the sliding door. Check out Provenance Woven Wood Shades.
