Where are you located? In my area, the choices are almost endless. And pretty much ALL look good year round!

I'm in Seattle :) I do see some rhodies looking yellowish in the winter. The leaves look drab. Some look that way right now. I figured some varieties just maintain their green and leaf form better in the winter. Or do you think it's something else? Oh, forgot to mention, the spot I have for it will get full summer sun. Soil and irrigation are good though.

It's something else that is causing the yellowing. Almost without exception any evergreen rhododendron should look as good in the PNW in winter as it does at any other time of year.......barring any acute Arctic blasts :-)

And most local nurseries tend to have a very large selection of rhodies to chose from - it IS our state flower - but much less at this time of year than they will when they bring fresh stock in in late February or early March. I'd check with Wells Medina or Swanson's. Or take a day trip to Whitney Gardens in Brinnon. They focus on rhodies - have introduced a number of varieties into the trade - and have a huge display garden. The Rhododendron Species Foundation botanical garden in Federal Way is also a great source.

I actually stopped by the garden in Federal Way last week. I only had a few minutes to breeze through what they had for sale, took a bunch of pics, and still need to look at them. But really, I'm looking for one that is already 3, 4, 5' tall, that will serve as a privacy screen. I just got off the phone with Lake Tapp Rhododendrons (just discovered through googling) and she recommended Daphenoides, of what they have in stock. She said all rhodies will just keep growing, but am a little concerned that online it says it's a medium up to 4' variety. She's going to keep looking at their inventory and text me if she thinks of something else. Sounds like my difficult requirement is needs to do ok in full sun. They don't have the C. Grandiflorum.
