I find that Bayes Stainless Steel cleaner is the best product for dealing with fingerprints. Like many stainless steel cleaners, it leaves a very thin coating on the steel that effectively prevents fingerprints from showing up. But unlike many other products, it doesn't feel grimy. But that only works, if you make sure to apply a really thin coating. It is easy to overdo it, and then you won't like the results until you wipe up all the excess product.

I suggest spraying a little bit of cleaner onto a lintless cloth and then wiping the steel surface, rather than spraying directly onto the steel. That way, you have more control over just how little you'll apply.

Depending on how much use your fridge gets, you'll have to reapply weekly or monthly.

We have a lot of stainless steel in our kitchen, as all of our countertops are stainless. Overall, we are very happy with it. But I agree with you and wood panels are certainly easier. That's why most of our appliances are in fact panelled.

We had this subzero behemoth in the house we rented while building our current house. Normal cleaning would not remove finger prints or drip marks. Before we moved out I had to use baby oil to get it to look half decent. Don’t have that problem with our stainless LG fridge.

Maybe its more the wipe marks than the fingerprints Im having a problem with.

I went from stainless to paneled appliances and will give up other things before I give up the paneled appliances. It is so nice not to have to maintain all that stainless and look at the constant fingerprints and smudges.

I've had all different brands of stainless and didn't find that one was better than another.

Weiman Stainless cleaner and polish works pretty well. Looks like a spray can and I usually find it at the supermarket.

Thanks Chispa. I thank you all. Lots of great cleaning products. think we are leaning towards panelling the rest of the appliances. In my kitchen at home I have artistic panels on my frighted which are made of inlaid exotic woods. I think in this kitchen, I will keep the subzero under counter in stainless as its brand new but do the refrigerator in cedar panels which will match the counters.

Yes!! mine is a year and a half old and its awful! Thepeople who delivered and installed it polished it before they left with wd40. Since then I have only used the stainless cleaner that came with it and a microfiber cloth. There is almost a film all over it. It always looks messy!
