I have the top down bottom up with the continuous loop pull, which I think works well and is fairly unobtrusive. I've had them about 6 years with no issues. No experience with the Ultra glide.

Ultraglide is an awesome cord system if you figure out how to use it. Best way to tell if you are going to like using it is to visit a Hunter Douglas Showroom to test it out for yourself. We find that consumers either get it or they don’t. It’s different than the traditional cords we are used to so that’s the hard part is retraining our minds on how it works.

The Easyrise cordloop system is another alternative if you need to go corded and that tends to be fool proof. You just roll the cord way way it goes up, and the other way it goes down.

Next topic - Shade Store turns out to be less $ than HD. Is there a reason that I'd want to stick with the HD Honeycomb shades?

Depends on the brand Shade Store is selling. i.e. Graber is just as good as HD, but cheaper. Then there are smaller companies that are just as good. The shades the big box stores sell, are not so good.

Sorry if the reply was confusing. Cord systems can be difficult to explain over posts like this. I would highly recommend visiting a Hunter Douglas Showroom to physically get your hands on the different cord systems so that way you know exactly how they work. As far as brands go, you will see different prices from brand to brand because the quality, warranty, options, etc. vary. There are cheaper brands than HD but few compare to the quality and reliability of HD.
