I have never met her but have heard that she is an expert on Featherweights. I think she may have had a workshop that my fellow guildmates attended before I joined the guild. I have heard them quote her on Featherweight maintenance.

She is well known for her featherweight classes. She's often mentioned on the Sewing Machine Blogs. I've never heard anything but great reviews about her classes. I believe her website is novamontgomery.com. That said, I have not taken her classes nor have I bought anything from her website. I've just about decided to part out my featherweight. It's so well used that its going to be too expensive to re-do.

It probably isn't feasible to refurb it. The foot pedal and wiring to it needs to be replaced, so I haven't checked the motor yet. I ordered new feet for it and a new belt. The paint on the bed is worn through completely. So to be pretty, it requires repainting, which is very expensive. I won't ever paint it myself, so it's either use it as is or not. I have way too many sewing machines, anyway. I just bought a great 301 that is in perfect condition, that I could take to a class or retreat.

I paid $125. for the featherweight in an online auction, and I think I could recoup most of it if I part it out (buyer pays the freight). In addition to the problems, the freight to Florida would be very expensive. If it still interests you, PM me.

Actually, I was looking for one I could convert to a hand crank, so it might work.
