Thank you. In the middle of a DIY remodel. The current floor is something I put down myself two yrs ago and not so well. It’s lumpy and has taken a beating.

Your kitchen is nicely defined. I'd have a different flooring there. It's not a good look to have woods that don't match if you can avoid it. Marmoleum? A groutable tile that looks like slate? I think whatever you do might have to be thin otherwise it'll mess up your dishwasher.

I’d go for hardwood! It’s not that hard to match the stain. Bring home some samples. I think unifying the look makes the whole space more coherent.

Whats under the gray flooring? Do you think youd have to remove underlayment to lay hardwood level with existing hardwood?

Under the gray flooring is just a subfloor. That slate tile idea is a good one, the entrance way of the house has slate currently. We weren’t going to put real wood in the kitchen right now (a few yrs down the road that is the plan as we plan on changing the layout of the kitchen slightly). We found a complimentary color laminate flooring that we were entertaining. Too similar that it would look like we tried too hard but failed?
