You might want to check Consumer Reports (https://www.consumerreports.org/join -- $10/month digital) for ranges and dishwasher reviews and then follow up with owners' reviews on Home Depot, Best Buy, etc. websites.

We installed Bosch gas slide in a month ago and I love it so far. It replaced a 5 year old GE Profile slide in gas that died right after the extended warranty was up - it needed a $400 part that’s no longer available (I tried without an oven for 6 months). That’s my personal experience; YMMV. We also have a Bosch dishwasher that I have no complaints about.

We had a Bosch dishwasher in our old house (was there when we bought it) that we used for the five years that we lived there and it was still like new when we moved out. My guess is that it was right around nine years old when we bought the house and it was still utterly silent when running and got things super clean. The only downside was that it did not do a great job drying dishes.

We bought a GE Cafe dishwasher (and gas range) for our new house. I’ll admit that it was mostly because we liked the two tone look of being able to get bronze handles, but also because our appliance salesman explained that between the two, the Cafe did a better job drying dishes. It is SO much louder than the Bosch. I can hear it running two rooms over. It does seem to clean well but certainly doesn’t dry well enough that I would choose it over the Bosch if I had it to do all over again. We’ve only had the dishwasher and range for about a week and we’ve been out of town for part of that time, so haven’t gotten to use the range enough to speak much on that.

If you have an open concept house or would be running the dishwasher during times when people were watching TV or whatever, I’d go with the Bosch. I don’t think that we really understood just how great it was until we moved and left it behind.

last house, never had any problems with it. for our new build we went with the Fridgeadair pro series, Cook top, wall oven fridge & Dw, along with a Sharpe MW drawer .

I'd get the Bosch DW and the Cafe range. I have both and they are great. GE makes good cooking appliances but I would not buy their DWs or refrigerators. Bosch DWs are super quiet, but as stated above, they don't dry well. But they clean so well--any stuck on food comes right off.

I have a Bosch DW and absolutely love it! It is my all time favorite dishwasher.

I would say go with the Bosch dishwasher! My husband and I have used one before, and finally made a purchase last month. Bosch is a dishwasher only, and doesn't use heating elements to dry dishes at all. The one we bought has an auto open air dry feature and it helps dry dishes. It's a game changer. Make sure your dishes are proper filthy if you are using detergent because the detergent will scratch the surfaces if they only need a little wash or rinse. It's that good.

Which Bosch model are you considering? I'm shopping for a new DW too.

For some odd reason I decided to run the dishwasher in the afternoon. Sparks and black smoke were coming from the side and the control button areas. We could have had a major house electrical fire.

Now, perhaps Bosch learned from their mistakes. It can be argued that the bad machines are off market, OR are they? The new Bosch machines do not come with a power cord and it must be bought separately, owing to the recall. The third recall was an extension of the second recall for the same faulty feature. I am leary of accepting their rebate coupon for a new Bosch DW.

I found that Bosch has had three recalls due to fire hazard.

The first recall was made in 2009 for models manufactured 1999-2005. Control box

We bought this house in 2016 and the DW was here already. I don't know when the DW was installed, it certainly wasnt new then and did. not appear to have had a fire. One never knows when a seemingly reliable machine will ignite- so so Scary!

I wish that I knew to search the appliance model numbers before we took possession of the house

I don’t have an opinion on the range but IMO you can’t beat Bosch for DWs and BTW you buy appliances for how you cook not because they match get regular old stainless and they will all look good together . Never heard of the recall for the Bosch DW mine in this house is 12 yrs old I run a catering biz from my home so sometimes 8 -10 loads a day not one issue or service call.

Patricia-. Check your DW model! Bosch gave us a choice - free repair or 40% off new B DW. Apparently, our B- DW was part of the first recall- There was no problem until recently, but it was a serious problem. Other than the fire, the DW worked. Lol. Hopefully, your DW is a model and or made during the three year window that isn't involved in the recall.

I think the Cafe Glass finish is beautiful but they don't have all products in it yet. For example - a counter depth refrigerator. I noticed that Bosch has started making a similar finish. I thought I liked the other Cafe line until I saw them in person. The finish looks like
