I love the mouse! I like the color of the china cabinet. I would not paint it, in part because I don't think the style is conducive to painting. I think of painted furniture, even very fancy painted furniture, as being plainer.

The Halloween decor is very nice!

What does the rest of the room look like? For some reason the china cabinet looks short in the photo but I'm sure it's not.

I think the china cabinet is perfect the color it is. It's a good contrast to both the white and navy (?) behind it. It's not trendy and it's not outdated.

Here is a pic of the full room. The ceilings are 10 ft. The pic does make the room look short. Must be my photography! My husband thinks it may be outdated but relaxing it just isn’t an option at this time. Appreciate all your comments!

"Outdated" is gonna soon be all the generic looking furnishings that people are rushing to replace their older pieces with. I like that you're keeping what you have. It's perfectly ok not to glom on to the trends.

Anyway, you need a place to display your china. Would another cabinet work better in there? No. Not really. It is a good style AND color for the room.

(A glass-fronted coffin propped up might be okay too, though, but keep the same color wood.)
