Grab a sample of Benjamin Moore Coventry Gray. It won't have a blue undertone like the bottom sample from your photo but it won't be as beige as the top right. Plus it's neutral enough to compliment the island and deep enough to contrast with the light gray kitchen cabinets.

Why don't you Case that opening in cherry and paint the wall a neutral bone off white. Great value activity not hard or complex.

If you want something warmer in the walls I wouldn’t use a blue gray. FWIW, the undertone for walls will look best if they relate to your hard finishes (definitely the floor). Which looks like a taupe/violet gray on my phone.

Whatever you end up choosing I think it can definitely be warmed up with a window treatment , art, wood cutting boards, baskets, and plants.
