It looks like you've got plenty of space to work with, it's just being under-utilized. These are my suggestions:

1. Cleaning it out. Get rid of any clutter or items that you don't use in a daily basis. You want your entry or mud room to be efficient and useful and the best way to do this is to slim down what you have in it.

2. Seating. Add some seating beacuse sitting down to put on shoes and boots is a lot easier. A practical bench about 4-6 feet long would be ideal for that long wall underneath the windows. See the photo with the white bench in it.

3. Storage. Storage is very key in mud rooms because there a many things that need a place to go. You might consider putting multiple baskets under that bench for different items like umbrellas, frequently used shopping bags, etc. Also, the wall on the right looks like a great place to put floor to ceiling storage on. I attached a photo of an idea that I love for this kind of thing. I love built-ins for a mud room because everything then as a place and members of the family have their own space that they can find things. Built-ins are also a great place to hang coats, backpacks, and other personal items that can look a little messy. Simply install a cost hook or two in the back of the cabinet. the side of the cabinet is a great place to put a few little hooks for keys and keychains. Here's a quick easy DIY: find a picture frame that you love and take out the glass. Place the frame on the side of the cabinet at a comfortable height for you and trace the inside lightly with a pencil. Take the frame off and screw three to five hooks into the cabinet, inside that box that you just marked out. Make sure to use short screws so they don't come through the other side. Then, hang the frame over the hooks, and there you go! Easy!! If you aren't a fan of built-ins as the second photo shows, consider open shelves with baskets. Each person in the family can take a basket for their own stuff. That way, everyone's things are stored out of the way, easily accessible, and it looks pretty!

4. Decor. Decorating can be so much fun, but this is a place where it is easy to over do it. I saw a breaker box on the wall with the windows. A quick and easy way to hide it, but still be able to access it, is by simply hanging a piece of art over it. Attach two hinges to one side of a piece of art thats bug enough to cover the box, but not the windows. Then, position it on the wall and screw in the other sides of the hinge to the wall. Simple!! Don't forget to add personal touches too. If you have family photos or a sign that has a quote you love, use that great little ledge to display things or put small plants on!

You have great items in that room. I would definitely keep the rug and that plant in the white vase. I assume the rest of the stuff in the photo is used regularly. You've got a really great floor too.

Hello Natasha! Just want to thank you so so much for taking your time and visualizing what would be best for the room!! I did not expect it but was so desperate for help decided to give it a try on here...

The right wall is so long I was overwhelmed with uncertain ideas, like if things would look too small and awkward on it.. Thanx again for the great ideas and pictures!!! The stuff that I have sitting there is just temporary until we finish the room and I can move it to garage. Started with a rug to bring a theme and will keep some of the plants in there...

I will definitely use this feature for future projects and ideas!

Absolutely! It was my pleasure to help you! I agree, sometimes very long straight walls can be challenging to work with, but there's so much opportunity as well! Since that wall is so long, you might consider anchoring it by placing a large piece of furniture or the built-ins that I mentioned in the middle and longer benches on either side. This will also provide some symmetry to the room and make it feel like the room isn't so narrow.
As soon as you start adding in pieces of furniture and creating little nooks or areas in there, the space will come alive!
