Design Dilemma Organizing the Home Entry

Entryway in Built Ins

Looking to do an entry way by the front door a little spot for some shoes and coats. My idea is to take out the built ins and add some cubbies and hooks. Is that space too narrow? I think it would be strange to do an entry way on the other side of the door since it opens that way even though there is the space.

I agree. Remove the shelves and hooks seem practical. I don't think you have the depth to add a bar in there. You certainly don't want stuff hanging on walls in your living room.

I don’t understand what you are trying to do: “looking to do an entryway by the front door. . . “. The front door IS the entryway. Do you want to add another door?
