Have you considered repainting the wall behind the headboard as an accent wall? Keep the other walls neutral.

Would change the lamp shades to solid white ones without any ornaments on them.

Would remove the art from the side wall and consider adding art over the headboard.

If you don't want art over the headboard ... is the mirror above the dresser attached to the dresser? If not, after you finish any repainting you decide to do, you might put the wider rectangle mirror on the wall above the headboard and put the fancy framed mirror on the wall above the dresser. Otherwise, consider creating a stand for the fancy framed mirror.

Something you might consider is "lifting" the mattress and box spring higher (thicker boards beneath the box spring) so the bedding is more visible over the foot board. Then lay two king size pillows in shams that match your bedding down before adding throw pillows. If you do this, however, you might need to use queen sized covers to fully cover the side of the side frame.

Is duvet cover a greyed lavender? that's a romantic combo with cream probably - so is there room for another item that type maybe a 'bed bench'?

I'd like to know which direction you can go? is this a bit French Country? toile or garden? this might have good touch of apricot.

This is always my dilemma, I put in a lot of work and miss out on the fine details

maybe a bench or a few poufs in front of the bed

I'm guessing if you add dark in right places, you could do it: would dark art go over bed? though this is too-dark espresso, it could be lightened to medium stain.

Experiment with inexpensive bench at foot of bed, and toss pillow and/or a throw...

If you have room for a "bench" at the bottom of the bed, choose a storage ottoman or a bench with a shelf (with or without doors) so you will be adding storage space for either bedding or shoes.

Not a fan of the sloppy-drag-the-floor look for drapes. If you add drapes/curtains, consider that a solid color will be less "busy" -- less likely to visually shrink the room -- and keep in mind your bedding colors -- which color(s) in the bedding do you want to emphasize.

Maybe one of these original artworks would add some texture and contrast to your wall. Here are some ideas to ponder. Good luck and enjoy decor !
