Trash or Treasure

When planning a home remodel, it’s often hard for homeowners to let go of some valuable items or family heirlooms. Re-purposing something old and worn is way to mix the old with the new and to achieve a custom look in your home.

BEFORE

Lighting is one of those essential details that should never be overlooked and when put in the right setting may never go out of style. This stunning crystal and brass chandelier may have looked dated and dusty in the once sectioned off dining room but now it’s become the statement piece and brings that wow factor to this custom walk in closet. A great vintage light fixture can set a mood, create conversation, and give that aesthetic you are looking for.

AFTER

Existing cabinets that may no longer fit in the new project design but are in good condition, can often be repainted or refinished.

BEFORE

A refurbished butler’s pantry cabinet that was original to this Mountain View home built in 1930, a fresh coat of paint and new pulls, it now blends with the new shaker style cabinets.

AFTER

When rethinking the design of a new space, consider moving the whole cabinet itself. These clients added a fresh fun color to lowers, which now serves as their mud room cabinetry.

BEFORE

Upper open shelving and the bright blue really bring a whole new vibe to the space which was once the kitchen. Re-purposing, recreating and rethinking are all important to consider when you are unable to part with certain items.
