You just need to trick the eye with counterbalancing the window and desk. I would put an indoor tree to the right of the room and then add in your credenza under the window. If you place anything tall on the credenza, like candles or a lamp, place them on the right side of the credenza and shorter items on the left side.

Take a minute and think this area through because what you're doing is NOT working

A desk, especially this large one doesn't belong in a dining room. That said,....if there is no where else in the house this can be placed, can you put it on the wall with the oval window?

Since you can't move the desk and bookshelves, I would put a buffet under your window....window on the left and a lamp on the right, balancing it out. A small chair on the right side of the buffet may look good also....depends how long your buffet is. Or if you don't need the window for light, find some artwork (with a thick frame) and hang over the window. Would have to be a thick or deep frame to cover the window frame. Or you could find an oval piece of artwork and put it beside the window...sort of a "twin" look but that may be hard to find. Toddlers are fun...enjoy!
