I bought Dreft powder at Walmart. I checked and they still have it in store. I’m using the Tide Plus Downy powder for most loads. I buy it at Walmart or Target. I can only find it in the big $18-20 box. It’s my favorite (for now!)

Are the dryer balls loud? My washer and dryer are in my house...even a plastic measuring cup Accidentally tossed in the dryer is annoying to me and I have to take it out...

Well, it depends on the material. If balls are from plastic, it could be a nightmare, but wool balls are pretty quiet. I have a dryer on the second floor, not in the basement and they don't bother me.

Thank you, MiMi and Anne. I will likely buy some Dreft or Tide Plus Downy powder in the future. I, too, love it for sheets and towels. Nothing like that fresh old school P$G powder detergent scent.

Ok, after a week of using Tide plus Downy AF powder, I can say I am in love with it. Low sudsing, cleans great, and smells wonderful. Doing a load of colored socks and underwear now and I guarantee they will have just a trace of scent after three rinses. This might just become a daily driver for warm and hot colorfast loads!
