Blue is very calming in a bedroom, but a light grey is also a great option, with white trim. It's fresh rather than stark and would complement your headboard and carpeting. What direction do your windows face? The bedroom shown has a north facing window. You may also want to change out the overhead light for something that's more of a statement piece.

What colour is your trim? I'd consider the same colour. Lighter walls would be fabulous - I'd just be careful to find something that's not too stark with the carpet. I agree a larger ceiling light fixture would be fabulous. Is the wall sconce above your dresser the only room other light in the room? Whatever colour your walls end up, they'd benefit from art that you love.

Bedrooms are supposed to be calming and restful, so they should have a very soft color and palette. A lovely pale blue, gray, or warm white would look great. No accent walls (they are totally dated). It's hard to see the color of your bed. Perhaps select new bedding and then pull a soft color from that.

I would like to go with a neutral gray. Yes. White will look way to clean and empty. Add printed dark blue rug then and have the matching throw pillows. Your room has so much potential in it. Just a bit of work required.

White curtains are fine, and I think you want a soft look for walls now [very little contrast of paint with curtains]... if you love red, they carry red bedding.... and plum....and blush.

With current dark rods / white - this black/white pattern could look good.

2. Because of almost no wall showing and the expanse of curtains, having the large window wall the accent color serves to frame the window; consider that wall being the only accent wall.

3. Any reason you don't want to move the bed to the opposing blank wall? Even if the large windows have E or S exposure, you have the curtains to curtail imposing sunshine. Plus, you give yourself the advantage of looking out the window [assuming it's a desired view].

4. Would you consider a wood wall? Wood is Warm. If you halfway like this idea, consider the large window wall [only] covered in wood.

Or perhaps replacing the carpet with a wood floor and a large accent rug [regardless of wall color]?

Is that bedding what is staying IMO bedroom color schemes are best when they use the bedding for inspiration > I also do not think bedrooms need to light and airy as they can be quite lovely when they are a bit on the darker side .I would suggest some new bedding that has a more tailored look with that bed then come back with a pic of that before doing that get a nice light fixture for the ceiling with good LED lighting in 4000K for good over all lighting for cleaning and then your lamps should be on night tables on either side with good bulbs for reading . I definitely want to go with a lighter color, something more modern and clean. My bed is a dark gray/charcoal, and the carpets are a light gray. Moving the bed to the opposite wall is not possible (even though the view from the window is quite fabulous)

Bedding is something that I change a lot, so I sort of play with colors in that.
