Why dark or black kitchen cabinetry? Isn’t it depressing?

Do not enjoy dark or black kitchen cabinetry and/or walls. Think kitchens should be crisp, clean and lighter with excellent lighting.
Also even though trend is quartzite, marble or quartz countertops...I disagree. Do not like quartz for example...pattern repeats itself. I like the uniqueness and artistry of Mother Nature in the natural patterns unique to a particular slab or area that is unlike any other.

Granite is beautiful either honed or polished...artistically designed by Mother Nature. Creativity at its best!

I waited twenty years to have it in my kitchen and now I have had two kitchens with granite...love it!

    Okay, you are right...but if you have no windows in a kitchen and/or the kitchen is placed in the center of a household, wouldn’t you find it a bit too dark?

    While white kitchen is more crisp, black kitchen is absolutely attractive. Especially if the windows and lighting are placed right as you mentioned.
    I’m working on one myself, let’s see how it turns!

    Any trend can be done well or done poorly. black cabinets can be nice in the right kitchen

    I think the black will get old very quickly but go for it....I applaud your enthusiasm! Marianne Dawood..I would love to see how black walls turned out in your kitchen.
