My house was built in 1993. I have a large open foyer with an outside door in need of replacing. However, because the door moldings will need to be taken off to replace the door we are hesitant. We went back to the place where the door came from but they do not have the molding. Neither do anyone else we have found so far. It is extra wide molding and runs along not only the door but the two closet door that run perpendicular with the main door. Also massive window above the main door also has the same moldings as do the closet doors. If the molding around the main door breaks, the new will not match the other moldings within inches of the main door. It is a focal point for our home. I would really like to have the moldings match. Our main door desperately needs to be replaced but we need to solve this problem. If the moldings came off easily, no problem, but the people coming in to sell us doors won't guarantee that will not happen and do not have the knives to match. Help!
