Kitchen design dilemmas!

  1. I’m noticing in many kitchens the bulkhead protrudes out beyond the line of the cupboard doors/ sides. Can I ask why this is & is there a general rule as to how far out / why you would choose to have them aligned vs protruding? We are getting our bulkhead in (across the range & all cupboards see pic 3) on Monday & I’m quite confused about this point.

  2. Splash backs if you have squareset windows. Large format concrete look tiles? If we go darker, do we have to go to the ceiling to stop it looking odd... hubby likes dark charcoal, I prefer almost white shades of grey. We have slate floors and a pretty low ceiling.
Do we go to windowsill on one side, to under cupboards/range on the other, or full height across the board?
Or do we just go back to white subways & stick to under cupboard height across both sides? Help?

  3. Windows. We have two openings (see old pics) the smaller one on the right is being made square to match the one on the left which is 920 square. It will be above the sink.
Do you think we should still have 2 openings given the one on the left is now an internal opening only?
Also we aren’t tilling the sills, I prefer to use a sill in matching ceasarstone; should we have window sills flush with the window if windows are squareset?
