Small Farmhouse Kitchen Makeover

Recently purchased a new home. Love everything except the kitchen... what recommendations do you have for a remodel/expansion?

What are your dislikes? Closing up the little window and switching range and sink positions will allow a ventilating hood out the back wall and some reconfiguration of the island . Offer the dimensions and adjacent space description or graph paper outline and you'll get many ideas. Budget is critical . waiting for your desires to evolve will help the process . It's open , so examining open living space arrangements will be interesting .....search for images on the internet. From California to New England you'll see what people do. Can't tell that much about the property , it's location , how big , other features etc . My takeaway is that w the ceiling pitch and overall space you can go more expansive and feature laden , or compact , streamlined and modern , slightly minimalist w the footprint. You will have to set goals.

Live in it for a year and see how it functions for you while you use Houzz to build some ideabooks and figure out what you must have in your kitchen. Meanwhile, I would raise the drapery to the level of the cabinet tops, and start shopping for an upgrade in the lighting. Use LEDs and put some under the upper cabinets too.

if you want to expand, you could shorten the window (or eliminate altogether and do a larger window near the sink area) and extend the kitchen.

you have a great space to work with but it depends on your budget and what you really want.

Pretty spot. To give you great feedback, I would need dimensions of the space. Let’s start there.

The cabinetry needs to be at least 42” (48” is better) from the cabinetry or appliance across from it. You don’t need bar seating with a dining table right there. Instead of a bar, you could have an island with storage on both sides.
Stainless steel appliances are more current.
For the best responses, give us a measured to-scale drawing of the entire room and label doors, windows, and planned uses of each area.

Looks like Faisal is gone . As for this space I would advise living with it for at least 3 months to get an idea of what you need for function. Do you need the eat in area? Do you want wood or painted cabinets , a counter depth fridge is the first purchase I would advise you to make For sure we need a to scale floor plan of that whole area with measurements clearly maked all windows and doorways marked the height of that one window for sure . The plan should be able to be enlarged and most people find graph paper makes the drawing a bit easier.

Bad phone mock-up but I would match the dining area window size to the other and put the frig there in a cabinet, move the range and a hood in it’s place. One level the island and stack some uppers.
