Houzz has thousands of pictures of master bedrooms. Spend some time looking at pictures and save your favorite twenty or thirty pictures to an inspiration ideabook. Go through the ideabook again and remove half of the pictures, keeping perhaps fifteen which can serve as style and color inspiration ideas.
Draw up a measured diagram of the whole space on graph paper, showing measurements of all permanent features, doors, window, closet location and dimensions. What other bedroom furniture do you have? Any dressers?
What is your budget for the bedroom project? I suggest that you have the money in the bank to pay off your credit cards in full each month. Do not borrow money or pay only part of your credit card bill because interest on unpaid debts will eat your budget.
