what about my other roses list, like Eden roses or new dawn?

I feel some of my climber/ramblers are more cooked in the heat than they would prefer to be. I have Awakening and it is doing alright, but not loving the heat. I saw Cecile so happy in California, but probably not as hot an area as you are. It does well here. I wish So Cal and Arizona would pitch in here. I wonder about climbing Teas or Chinas? Noisettes? They seem to love heat.

Eden doesn’t mind heat, mine is in full open hot Texas sun from 7am-9pm in the summer. She is also humongous so leave her plenty of room. If you don’t mind the lack of repeat, she is incomparably beautiful in spring. The repeat might be better in a cooler climate, this is just my experience.

I’m in Santa Clarita, CA, zone. 9a. My Raspberry Twirl is just a baby, but she did fine in last summer’s heat. It’s basically over 95 here every day throughout August, so that is hot. You might consider Flamingo Dancer from Burling Leong if you like stripes - I planted this last spring and it took off like a rocket. Beautiful pink and white stripes. The blooms are looser and have fewer petals than Raspberry Twirl. I like them both.

No shade for Eden whatsoever, she is in full sun , morning until night. We also can easily get over 100, sometimes 105-107.

I have cloud 10 on my south facing front porch and it has sunburned a bit. I think it will be ok once it grows up a bit, but I think maybe you should make a road trip to Burlington and get suggestions, she is In Visalia and knows what does well in our weather. It doesn’t get over 100 very much here but my front yard is super hot with lots of reflected heat.

My brother grew Joseph's Coat in La Quinta(low desert) and it was fine. The only drawback (for me) is no fragrance.
I also think Climbing Don Juan would do well, although mine gets crispy in the mid 100s. Mine only gets morning sun, and it blooms a lot and smells great.
I bought an America this year, even in its pot the blooms stood up to summer, you should consider that one too.
FYI, Ben's roses are always fabulous, but I do want to point out he is in humid heat, not dry desert heat like you (and me somewhat as well. ) I think it makes a huge difference, and roses suffer more in dry heat.

Darcey Bussell blooms all summer in our hot and dry zone. She’s not a climber, but somehow she’s creeping up the side of our house without support. That block wall is about 50” high. She’s fragrant too!

Don Juan did great for me in afternoon sun in Houston at my previous house. I did not detect much of a fragrance though.
