Cambria Brittanicca Warm island and complementing perimeter countertop

Hello, We are doing a complete kitchen remodel (white cabinets with a dark midnight wood island). We would really like our large island to be the “statement” and have chosen Cambria Brittanicca Warm. The rest of our countertops are in a U-Shape and we have a long run which would mean 2 seams. I’d like a more subtle Cambria for the perimeter. Any suggestions?

Not a pro, but a lot of the pros will tell you that if you're planning on having a different color island that the perimeter cabinets, that you should only have one type of countertop. Otherwise your eyes have too many patterns to look at, especially if you're doing 2 different quartz, I have seen a few times where people have butcher block on the island then a different surface for the perimeter, but I prefer having matching if the island wood is different.

The Britannica Warm is a pretty pattern that I would want to use it everywhere. But with a large veining pattern you have to be careful with seams.

ONE counter top would be best. Especially given a white perimeter cabinetry. The island WILL be a statement, by virtue of stain color and size. Stick to ONE. and be very careful with seaming, where it will go, and be home for the LASER template. Don't sign anything you don't understand, and if you need an extra slab? You do. Don't end disappointed for lack of follow through. Without a designer, YOU are the designer. Seams, edges. all of it. When in doubt? ASK.

Either way? Be CERTAIN you love the top with your cabinet white, whatever that white is.Take your door sample to a slab or order a large sample. There are a billion "whites"

No to 2 different counters. Either 2 different color cabinets or 2 different counters, but not both. Cambria Britannica is so pretty, use it on all your counters.

Thank you all for the insight. We had chosen another quartz from MSI and once we got our bid we decided if we were going to spend that much we were going to get the Cambria we loved. We took the doors, backsplash and paint samples to our Cambria store yesterday and the whites work well together. We have worked with a designer, they just happened to be out of town this week when we decided to go with the Cambria rather than the MSI. Our change to a dark island was a last minute change that we love and I had never thought about not mixing countertops since we had planned a White Island until last week. I am concerned about our seams on the perimeter but will definitely be there to understand and approve.

We just put in britannica (regular -- I wanted

warm but it didn't work with our linen white cabinets or the tile). The peninsula color is "feather." Cambria did a great job on the corner seam. I'm sure you'll be very happy.

I have the same question here. Island and perimeter cabinet are different color. I would like to use Brittanicca warm over both. But the problem is one side or cabinet is 11" which is too long for slab size and won't look nice as seam with this dramatic vein. Instead of finding another slab with same background color, how would you suggest to solve the prolem of Brittanicca warm on long perimeter cabinet? Thank you.
