how to get bedding to fit bed

We have a standard queen size mattress. I find it very hard to get sheets that fit. One set, the fitted sheet is about perfect, but is so tight one corner ripped when I was putting it on. At least I was able to sew it. And the flat sheet that came with the set, I have to put on width wise so it "fits" better.

I've donated a few sets that never fit right. I'm not a "princess" but don't sleep well and sometimes blame it on my sheets!!!!!

I finally realized you can buy fitted and flat sheets separate. I ordered another fitted sheet, it is ?? okay ?? but not as tight...I do like a tightly fitted "fitted" sheet. And the flat sheet I bought separately is almost to big!

So we going to buy a king size bed. I am not looking forward to getting sheets. Any suggestions?

Any bedding sites that don't waste so much packaging on their sheets. I get annoyed with those plastic zipper bags new sheets come in. What a waste!
