Pear Pruning choice A or B

My espaliered pear tree. A sub lateral. It has grown too long. I get mentally stuck on these. Once I start It will move along, but I wanted to ask for others opinions. The goal is to maintain the espalier form and keep it tighter, but without falling into a cycle of vegetative growth.

I'm curious - A, B, or other. Hopefully the picture came through ok.

A. IF I cut it back to ‘A’ then it will still be too long, but it would be pruning to last year’s growth. It will probably not cause more spurs to form lower down the branch.

B. IF I cut it at ‘B’ then it will definitely be shorter, but it will likely lead to vegetative growth and a cycle of long growths and cut backs.
