It's a little hard to see clearly but if you mean the branch that is highlighted in yellow, I would remove it completely. And there seems like a lot of extraneous minor growth that should be removed as well, but it may just be too early in your pruning season to have addressed that :-)

By the end of the winter pruning session, an established espalier should look very little like a tree at all and more like a two dimensional framework of only the major laterals and remaining cut back sideshoots.

Thanks for the feedback. I love a good option C! Your espalier is awesome, a poster child for espalier. I'm starting now on cleaning mine up from last year, but it will never look as clean as yours. I'm still learning, and in hindsight I should have been more controlling as it grew. I'm trying to back manage into it as best I can. Which is ok, it is all for fun ;-)

Outside of being more on top of it, I think the growth cycle In the southeast is crazy explosive versus the cooler more moderate pacific northwest. What I would trade for where it never gets too hot or too cold.
