Get a bold colorful wallpaper with a large repeat. Put only on that wall behind bed. Get some brushed brass sconces (try circa.com or circalighting.com) and go for dramatic. Hang around 65” up from floor, so they’re not for reading in bed. They’re just for looks

I assume that you're going to change the bedding, so something in the color family of your new bedding color.

IMO you have more than enough clutter on that wall so start there and minimize what goes on those shelves .If it was my space I would drywall the shelves over then add the wallpaper to that whole wall. You need two larger lamps and some new bedding . As for wallpaper design that will depend on the look you want. You need to show us some inspiration you have seen, right now I have no idea on design of the wallpaper.

That’s a good idea. Or maybe, if you need the storage, see if you can add doors to make those shelves cabinets?

What are those things on wall above the bed? Whatever they are I would hid them with a headboard. De clutter the shelves and side tables.
