I have HD motorized cellular in my bedroom and they are fine with the pebble control. Just put Horizon motorized roller shades in my great room and they seem to work well- smooth operation. Have not tried Lutron.

HD and Lutron are two really good quality and high end products and a great solution when it comes to a hardwired system. But they are not the only players in the motorized market. We for example offer lithium battery operating shades and blinds that recharge like a smart devise - plug and play and last up to 9 month on single charge (depending on usage of course). You can cover large openings with roller shades or very shallow depth inside mount installation with pleated blinds. There is no power needed next to the windows and they are perfect for a motorized shades with no electrician needed.

I recently remodeled and, on the advice of my designer, installed Q-Motion motorized shades.

They are not advertised to the consumer user and are more of a "to the trade" type of product. Therefore, they are priced less for comparable quality.

I am quite happy with mine. I got the Zigbee controls which work through my Wifi system. I have the App installed on my iPhone but they also provided remotes.

Good to hear the positive experience with the Lutron Caseta system. I currently have all Hunter Douglas shades and blinds and love the quality of them. I am building a new home and need to have motorized for privacy. I wanted to use Hunter Douglas but have read many issues with their control system. My new build will have an extensive Lutron Caseta system for lights so thinking I should go with Lutron.

Hi there, I’m looking at the rechargeable Lutron system for roller shades from The Shade Store. I’ve heard the once the motor dies one has to replace everything including blinds. Anyone have any input? I’m looking at a $5,000 expense and am worried about having to replace them in 5 or 7 years. Thank you!

I think you should double check the info about having to replace the whole shade, I don’t think that is correct.

The Shade Store has a lifetime warranty. I purchased the motorized shades and couldn’t be more pleased. They are beautiful and functional.

We have one room with two motorized Shade Store Roman blinds (before the partnered with Lutron.) Recently after just over five years of use, one of the strings broke and they repaired it at no cost. No other company provides that level of warranty. They are a great company and make a very reliable product. We also have over 120 Lutron lighting devices and they’ve proven to be the most reliable home automation devices we’ve owned. They’ve made a great partnership. Double check me on this, but I believe they only warranty the motor for fives years, but they’re easily replaced. You did make a good choice though, you should get years of worry free functionality.
