Just gently rinse your new pots with clean water. There is no need for scrubbing. Do your pots have drainage holes?

They do have drainage holes. I already used soap (based on the recommendation from someone else) Is it still safe to use with my plants after thoroughly rinsing?

Yes. Rinse well and all will be fine.

Better yet, use plastic nursery pots INSIDE your lovely ceramic planters & it'll be even better. Just remember to check that water doesn't collect inside the other pot, tho' if they have holes as you said, that shouldn't happen.

It's nice that you're concerned abt the soap, but I'd be more concerned abt pots w/ glazed INSIDE & whether leaded or not (can't tell if foreign made) or if any chemicals like that will harm the plants. Another reason to use a plastic pot INSIDE.

Pls disregard any advice from Mike the Fiddle Leaf Fig Guy. He comes here often for help w/ plants he's killed & takes bad advice from uninformed growers & then passes it along. He kills his plants & shows a pattern of coming here repeatedly to share bad advice & wrong info.

His AWFUL advice above contradicting us who have successfully grown plants for decades now needs to pls be ignored.
