I've been using the Savi lights for about 12 years. Yes, there have been problems with them for many years. I went through many design changes of their models.

Jandy/Zodiac Products purchased the company few years ago and has made some vast improvements and I can say the models I've used in the last 5 years have been problem free.

The color models are easily programmable with a Jandy RS system whereas in the past, you resorted to "toggling" to get certain colors or a programmed sequence.

The newest models, Hydrocool, are a nice product.

An important note is to provide a minimum of 12V to these lights. If a transformer is not producing this minimum, it can shorten the light's lifespan. Transformers can be wired to provide more than 12V which is ok for these lights. This is especially important with multiple lights in a pool. We generally have 5-6 lights in most pools we build.

I would suggest a consideration for the newest models. The pricing you got for just bulbs seems a bit high.
