I don’t like sconces at all and for sure not wicker ones.Why 10 sconces?

We bought this house and inherited the old scones that were removed. The former owner had that many installed - the living room is a very large space that is not fully visible in this picture. All of them were hard wired so we have to replace with new scones otherwise we have to try and patch 3” holes with electrical wiring behind it.

Wicker will hold onto dust and not let the light come out from the bulb....

To be blunt, your problem is your online designer, not your sconces.

All that light, clean, bright, spotless expanse of sofa and chairs, and you have little kids? I'd so want to jump on those luscious new cushions if I were 5. Wheeeee! There'll be spaghetti sauce, chocolate frosting, and finger messies on them in the first 3 minutes IMO.

And where do the little kids get to hang out? Not here where it's nice and close to the kitchen and you can keep an eye on them?

This is not a room for families with young children.... Just sayin'.

You need substantially sized sconces for the size of the room. Go to your local lighting store

Why a sconce? Looks like you might be better served by floor lamps.

Ok lets first talk about the placement, are there some on the walls without windows, that could be used as art lights instead of sconces. Then lets talk about not having any between the windows, and patching those. lastly, lets not look for decorative so much, have you ever thought about using ceramic? and painting them the wall color? A company like A-19 makes some that would work and are not expensive.

I'm all for "easy to clean" and wicker is a dust/grease trap. Don't care for the second one - looks like an exterior light. Brass is coming back though.

This house had an expert light it up, and seems so nice. I dislike a country house that looks dark [from the curb].... has yours said much about light for the upper area?

Brainstorming - though I see the fan, here's a cool trendy light - could be a shape like a square, or just 2, hanging at the right height. The light if any in center to me bears somewhat on what you'll need for wall lighting/ sconces.
