That said, typically Japanese tea sets for children were imported in large quantities for the toy market. It might have been imported as late as the 1950's so typically it was a generic import probably after WW I.

My experience is that these are transfer ware and not of particularly high quality because they were sold as fairly mass market toys - think Woolworths and not FAO Schwartz :-).
