I would go with a bigger rug at least 8 x 10 and not use the runner at all. I don't see the rug by the door unless you mean under the rocking chair?

Hi C.M. your current rug is too small. At. minimum the front legs of both sofas should be on top of the rug. When there is a corner arrangement like you have I prefer that all furniture sit on top of an area rug. This way the interaction between the legs of the end table and rug wont matter. In you case I would eliminate the runner. It is just "floating" there with no relation to anything else. I could see having a runner in the hallway but not where yours is placed. Here are some photos to illustrate what I am talking about. This one has the furniture legs anchoring the front of the rug. You can see the end table to the left of the sofa has a leg on the rug and the rest off

I think based on your picture I would do the latter. Not sure of your overall room size but I am guessing a 9 x 12 rug would accommodate the furniture .

Go for a bigger size for the rug that goes at least up to the sofa's first leg's underneath. It is pretty smaller than what the room needs.

Yes, the current rug is too small. My best advice is to wait until you have picked out all your new furniture (heck,I'd wait until it arrived) and then measure/blue tape so you KNOW what size rug you need. Typically there is a minimum and max number for both dimensions. & Remember, rugs that are sold as 9 by 12, are NOT necessarily 9 by 12, same with 8 by 10 etc.,etc. Sometimes those few inches matter.
