I don't know about the paint solution. the walls are practically white anyway; If you want light the pictures of the room indicate a 2nd floor /in the eves so .. if you want a skylight, its a skylights cost. I just don't want to see you waste money to achieve an underwhelming tone change. So maybe a new sofa is not the best first expense. If you do decide a new paint is necessary a white-blue might be more stirring. 2cents

First off, how could white make a room feel dark? secondly, if you don't have a lot of natural light, then you'll have to bring in light with lamps or recessed lighting.

What's not helping your room is those blinds. How do you expect to have a light room with drawn mini blinds??

Sorry, but I really don't get what you're saying. The room has plenty of windows. Try losing those blinds and getting something different. Your floor is also very dark so it's sucking up what light is filtering through those blinds. bring in a lighter rug that will help bounce the light back up into the room. Ditto furniture .

Your lamps belong on a nightstand. You need slightly larger tables and taller lamps for your living space. (or try a floor lamp)

As for paint, SW Pure White is their natural white color.
