art? stack or separate?

Two vintage water colors one is 19” H x 21 W.
The other is 24H x 21W.
Dining room in 11.6 x 11.6 feet.
Ceilings are 8’ tall.
Area on either side of chine cabinet is 48” with Queen Anne arm chairs on either side.
Arm chairs are 42” tall.
Question?
One pic on either side of cabinet?
Stack the pics and put on one side, find something with with same feeling on other side?
Opinions?
Walls are F&B Calke Green .

Let's have a person there hold them in places you're considering... !

    I'm not a pro.

Right now everything is symmetrical in the room. Continue by placing the art above the chairs - separately. JMO.

Hang one piece on each side of the hutch...at eye level.
Your table appears too large for the room if you have to put the end chairs over the table legs. If people are in those chairs, can you pass behind them? I think eight chairs is too many for the room.

Put art work one on each side to start.

    And consider
Square room => Round table Will work much better.
    Get rug
Lose the two chairs that dont match. Too many chairs 6 total bring in extra for the holiday dinner

    Working on suggestions! Thanks!

    Thank you one and all!
The furniture stays as the budget is limited and at 70, I have no desire to change things acquired over time.
But I did rearrange the chairs and moved others.....there are doors between the Kitchen and the DR and I hope to remove them for a more open feel. The living room is where I took pic so sort of open concept.
I might move the table 90 degrees or on an angle as suggested, but just hanging the pics took a level, pencil, release tape, two tape measures, hooks and nails, bumper pads and a stool! And most of the morning! But it was fun and a learning experience as the pics are not the same size. I put the eye sight line across the middle of the pics!
I am very happy with the results and really appreciate advice. It gave me a lot to think and I feel the rooms looks much better I think.
Lastly there is now 36”- 42” around the table.
    Thanks Houzzers!

    Here are the pics!

Diagonal table or table to one side? Would consider moving CC to far left side. As per suggestions from Houzzers!

More moving around. Opinions? Room feels bigger corners seem somewhat disappearing!

    Final move?

Yes! The diagonal is working well. It opens everything, including the traffic path from the three openings. Your last two pix look great and the room gained a more relaxed feeling which allows you to use the casual pictures.

WOW! Such a small thing for such great results!
You know when you ask for advice and get it, it is easy to think “I know nothing!” But then you think about all the ideas and suggestions and TRY it, And Voila! You feel like a genius cause it turns out so nice!!!!!
Amen to all you positive comments! Simple rug and some curtains will
Complete the room eventually! But for now I really love love love it! Score! And Thank You again.

PS A friend of mine suggested lowering the pics an inch or so. Centers are at 65” from
    Floor, ceiling height is 8’.
    Opinions?

I think lowering the pics would work better. They're too high for visitors to have a good look.

Yes, lower the artwork. The center should be 58-60” from the floor.

Susan, I didn't say it earlier, but I like the lines in the pattern of upholstery. Like table set either way, but I'm not there in person either. If diagonal I wonder if an oval would look better [instead of emphasizing with rectangular rug].

The bottom line of the pictures should be the same on both sides . On,y move one picture to make it even on the bottom line . Like the table better the way you had it originally . Too me it looks off in the diagonal . Remember you are not old at 70...and change can be fun . Enjoy your beautiful place .

I like the rectangular rug pic shown by decoenthusiast so was inspired by that!
The art work will be lowered. Following Alexa Hampton article on art work...... if too low you hit your head, and her advice for mismatched sizes was the center horizontal line should go evenly through the pictures. I think the article is called Art, where Art thou?
But will lower them ; out of town for three weeks!
Everfebs can you clarify on diagonal vs. original way——did you mean rug is diagonal or exactly what. I think I missed something?

Yes but at 70 I am keeping the major pieces and just redoing the frame! I do like your suggestion though.

The painting looks good between the hutch. I like the table not on the diagonal. Do you use this table to eat on daily? If that is the case and you need the room to move in, I would do it diagonally. But if it only gets used occasionally I like the balanced way the room looks with it straight. All you need is some flowers, plant, fruit bowl, centerpiece for the table. That’s fun to change up depending on your mood. I really like the green paint

Thank you! The needed thing on the diagonal is room to walk around and chairs easily in and out so think I will keep the diagonal! Want a sea grass rug like shown above in inspo picture!
    Thanks !
I like the paint too. Gutsy for me haha!
